The average funeral in the United States costs between seven and twelve thousand dollars.

All together, including necessary fees, funeral, burial plot, and grave marker the average cost has been calculated at between nine and fifteen thousand dollars. For those who are inclined to use a public mausoleum, add seven to eight thousand dollars on top.

For those who really want to do it in style, a small private mausoleum will cost between fifty and one hundred and fifty thousand dollars, plus incidentals.

The traditional way of dealing with death, ceremonial disposal, is not cheap. Unfortunately, neither is a continuing voyage.
